Have a BLUE RIBBON week at Hidden Hills Summer Horse Camps!

5 days, 5 hours a day = over 25 hours of horses!

Whether in the barn, in the arena, or on the trail, campers learn many aspects of horsemanship and horse care, from chores and grooming to a solid seat (Western or English) and good communication with their horses. With no more than 12 campers per camp session, our experienced and caring instructors are able to focus on and challenge the abilities of each camper. Camp sessions are a week long, and at the end of each week, campers put on a show for their parents to demonstrate what they’ve learned.

We try to organize our camps so that riders of the same skill level and age range ride together as much as possible. However, we may combine camps if necessary so that we can fit in as many aspiring riders as possible. Unless otherwise specified, camps are for boys and girls ages 8 and up, run from Monday to Friday from 9:00-2:00, and are $300/session. If your camp date is full, we will be happy to put your camper on a waiting list, and perhaps we’ll even put a new week together!

Young riders and BEGINNER CAMP

These camps are especially for campers with little or no previous or regular horse experience.  Campers learn the basics of safe horsemanship and responsible horse care, from grooming to tacking, and establish correct riding habits.  Young Riders is for beginning riders ages 6-7; Beginner Camps are for ages 8 and up.

Intermediate camp

For campers with at least 1 year of consistent riding experience, the Intermediate Camps  review the basics of good horsemanship from the ground to the saddle and continue to practice correct riding habits at the walk and trot, with some beginning canter and jump exercises and obstacle work.  Riders should be comfortable grooming, tacking, and be comfortable and in control at the trot.

advanced CAMP

Our Advanced Camp is for campers with at least 3 years of consistent riding experience who can groom and tack independently, have a solid posting trot and two-point (galloping/jumping) position, and have had at least some canter work.  Advanced campers learn more about their relationship with the horse while they advance their riding skills, including canter, jumping, bareback riding, and trail/trail obstacles.

This special camp lets campers experience all aspects of farm life, from daily chores such as collecting eggs and milking the cows to playing in the woods to enjoying a little horse ride.  For ages 8 and up.
